Key to Ideal Clients

The Key to getting ideal clients ALL the time!

So, how many ideal clients have you actually had?

By Ideal, I mean:

  • you knew right off they were a good fit
  • you felt like the trusted you
  • you liked their energy
  • they were ready to cut you a check and move forward
  • you were excited to start working with them

And how did it go?  Did they:

  • fizzle out before getting to the finish line?
  • question everything you did?
  • drag their feet in paying you?
  • did they not seem to understand or “get” you + your process?

Maybe you wanted to just fire them in the end.

Well, these are NOT ideal clients.  My Client Ali was in the same boat as you + most entrepreneurs.  Bringing them in wasn’t the problem.  Figuring out WHO was an “Ideal” fit was.

Watch the video above to start figuring out what your ideal client looks like and how your uniqueness is key to finally getting ALL ideal clients.

Oh, and if you haven’t yet, here is a link to my Uniqueness Quiz.

It’s the first step in identifying where your uniqueness might not be showing up in your business causing you to miss your “Ideal” Clients.

My big A-ha moment!

The real reason your business isn’t working
the way you really wish it would….

There’s a gap between what you know, your tools, skills, and education and how u r doing business. Choosing marketing strategies, products to offer, your list building strategies, goals for your business.

MY STORY:
I discovered what I call “the gap” when I started my coaching practice a while back.  Wanting to hit the ground running and be “all in” as you might say, I decided to invest in my education as a coach signing up for a year long program of high ticket coaching.  Their whole premise was creating a conscious business and get clients which was what I wanted.  Wow, he gave us so much information and awesome tools to use, it was wonderful.  But I found myself making up answers because I really didn’t know some of the things he was asking like :  who is your audience, where do they hang out, what is the result they want, what are you really here to offer”.

At the end of the first year, I had NOT make back my investment, and felt totally bummer out.  Then a friend who I had done the first year with asked if we should work together.  I’m thinking, “awesome” so we signed up for a second year.  I applied the tools and information as my coaches suggested…pushing myself to create something to offer and selling it.  I started making a bit of money, and had some clients  but something was still missing.  I wasn’t happy or satisfied at all.  My clients were not getting the results they wanted and my group program just fell apart.  I was devastated, and actually thought about throwing in the towel.  What am I doing here?

So, my business partner + I took a break, and I went back to the core of all of this…me.  I started using my tools and assessments on me, compiling information and comparing it to my business.  As I started making some shifts, I got my first referral, and she was a great fit.  No selling at all.  We simply had a conversation and she asked how to get started, and we were off!  I applied what I did to my business to hers and she started getting great results really quickly.  I was just as amazed as she was.

What’s the gap you ask?  This is what I learned.  That there was a gap between where I was and where they thought I was in my business. Things they just assumed I knew like who I was, how I worked best in my business, and what I really wanted big picture, and the steps to get there.  In a nutshell, my high end coaches assumed I knew my uniqueness and had designed my business from that core space.  Nope, hence the gap. Since I didn’t know myself and they couldn’t help me figure it out or how to apply it (THAT’s a game changer), I just made up what seemed like a good answer and took it from there. The results were good but felt all wrong…like I was pushing to make the numbers happen and if I didn’t I was a failure.  Our coaches said we were doing so well, too! What’s wrong with us?

Question: How many of you have invested in a coaching, training, or any program only to not get the results you expected to get if any?

Well I hear you, and I’m right there with you.
So I went back to the basics….answering the questions : what do I really want, who am I , what are my unique qualities? What am we here to teach or do for others? Wow, this was enlightening. Then I started applying it to my business almost like a make over….tweaking this, changing that…and the most amazing thing happened…someone referred a client to me. So, I decided to test this theory out with her. She got amazing results and fast, too. Then once I started to really see what it was that was helping her get clear and create exactly the results she wanted, Clients just started to find me.  That’s when I knew I need to share how to bridge the gap.

And the uniqueness factor came into being.  It is made up of 5 insightful exercises to help you jump-start this awareness of how you are, how you work, and what you are here to do…then the secret sauce of applying it to your business.  That is what gets you the results you are really after.

Do u feel like you are being pushed to make the numbers or get results, only to get results that don’t feel good or what you wanted?  Maybe you know there has to be an easier way to still do things your way AND make a good living doing it.  Then this is for you!

Why is this happening? The gap is made up of your unique way of doing business, what I call your uniqueness factors. The first 5 factors are where I start my new clients in getting more aligned.

Me + the armadillo ~ A lesson in personal power

armadillo

Ok, so it’s end of the school year and my daughter wants me to bring her teacher a metal, yard art armadillo (which is our school mascot). I’m thinking, “no Sweat”. Got $20 that says I can find one for that. My friend tells where she got her yard art, so I head out there to see what they got.

I find one, smaller than I wanted, but cute for $25. The guy who owns the place comes out and I tell him I only have $20 budget, what can he do for me. So, he offers the $25 armadillo for $20 cash. “Sold!” I say + tell him I’ll go get cash and be right back. Not 5 minutes later I’m back with my cash in hand and the armadillo grasped firmly in the other. I hand him the cash and he looks at me and says “$25”. I pause, thinking to myself, “wait a minute, He just told me $20 cash a minute ago, maybe he is mistaken.” So, I told him I heard him say $20 cash. He tells me “no, I know what I said and even though my English is not so good, I said $25 without tax”.

Yeah, so those two don’t sound the same, so something is up. Plus, I have a heavy feeling in my gut which is my “nope” meter.
So, what do I do? I check in and ask my inner guidance what to do. I hear, “trust yourself + what you heard. It will be fine.” So, I tell him, “nope, I heard you say “$20 cash, and that’s what I have. Do we have a deal?” Well, he hemmed + hawed saying how he didn’t say that, but he was still holding the cash in his hand. By now I’m happy to walk away, leaving no charge of energy on this. It works out or not with this guy. If not then I’ll find another one.

Finally after what felt like an hour, he says, “Well since you are so pretty, I’ll give this to you for the $20”. Works for me, and I’m off to pick up kids with Armadillo in my hand.

My lesson in all this? Keep your ground, trust your gut, and ask. It will work out for your highest good.

So, my question to you is ~ When did you have a situation where you had to totally trust your gut when those around you questioned it?

Do leave your comments + pass this on to anyone you know who might need to trust themselves a bit more!

How to make your intentions real for 2017

Wow, so many emails + events going on relating to creating + manifesting what you want in 2017!

How was your 2016?  Bring everything you wanted into fruition?

If you’re not feeling awesome about how your last year turned out, you are not alone.  2016 might have been a bit disappointing for many of us. It was a 9 year in numerology which is all about letting go and wrapping up loose ends to finish things so that you’re ready for your 1 year.  2017 rings in the beginning of a 1 year, full of starting new things, innovating, and breaking out on your own to be your own kind of success. A big part of creating a successful 2017 is knowing where you are going, what you want, and what you need to do to get there.

Lately I’ve seen many offers for a vision board process that can help you get clear. Vision boards can be great at helping you get clear on what you want to create. But if you are like me, you’ve created a vision board and only a few things actually came about (if any), falling short of your intentions + expectations. Which can feel rather disappointing considering all the work hours you put into them, yes?

Why?  Vision boards will only take you so far in the manifesting process. Even if you are clear on what you want to create in your business, your life, and your relationships, there are several components you need in this recipe to create the success you’re after.

Creating or manifesting something is actually made up of 3 things:  thoughts, feelings + actions.

Your thoughts are how you think about what you want to do/create:  is this a doable plan for me? Can I stay focused? Is it simple? Do these things inspire me?  By answering these few questions, you can gauge your ability to make these things happen.

How you feel about what you want to create also has a heavy hand in manifesting what you really want. Do the actions you have planned feel good, right, doable?  If not, then it’s back to the drawing board, so to speak.  If they don’t feel right and good down to your soul, then you are going to struggle to make them happen.

Now, what actions do you take to get there? My answer to that is simple: what are you feeling pulled to do?  What is popping up in your head when you think of sharing your gifts with your tribe? When are you feeling pushed or pressured to do something in particular? That is a sign something is not right:  it could be your timing, your tactic, or your intention.  Step back, and re-evaluate before you put what you are creating out there.

So, what are you missing? And, why isn’t it working?

You crave manifesting all this amazing stuff in your business + life, right? So what’s holding you up?  If you’re not feeling the vision board process, I have something else that might work for you: a more intuitive approach.

First, trust that you are already wired to be successful.  It’s inside of you already even though you might not be aware of it yourself.  It is an essential first step in creating what you want. What surprises me is the number of coaching programs, trainings, and online courses that assume you already know it all when you don’t.  If you want help discovering this for yourself, click here.

By knowing who you are, how you work, and what you are here to do, you have the unique ability to make decisions that feel good, to see the opportunities in front of you, and create the business life you really want.  This is the core, or soul, of who you are, and it is what influences everything that you create. Then, all you need bring your ideas to fruition is to have are these 3 things: clarity, a focused plan, and aligned action steps.

When you don’t know these 3 things, you will have a year full of distractions, missed opportunities, and bad decisions which often directly affect your flow of income, energy, and happiness (success).

First step: Is to get clear.  If you don’t know what you want + where you are going, how are you going to know what actions to take or opportunities to accept?

A few questions to get you started:  What is it that you really want to create in your business this year?  In your life? What would make you happy?

Make a list.

Next step:  get focused.

Here are 10 ways to prioritize your life and your to-do lists for increased happiness and fulfillment:

1.  One thing at a time, with full presence.

In other words, make the thing you have chosen to do the number one priority while you’re doing it.  Focus with your full attention.  See the value in where you are, while you’re there.  Enjoy what’s happening, while it’s happening.

In the end, you will come to realize that the best days are the days when you don’t need anything extreme or special to happen to make you smile.  You simply appreciate the moments and feel gratitude, seeking nothing else, nothing more.  That is what true happiness is all about.

2.  Family and close friends are at the top.

Nurture your important relationships in such a way that when you tell the people you care about that you care about them, you’re simply reinforcing what they already know based on how you have prioritized them into your life.

Give them your full attention.  Let them see their own beauty in your eyes.  Let them find their own voice through your listening ears.  Help them discover their own greatness in your presence.

Make the people you love a top priority, always.

3.  Focus on importance, not urgency.

As Johann Wolfgang von Goethe once said, “Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least.”

Truthfully, the most important thing in life is knowing what the most important things in life are, and prioritizing them accordingly.  Sadly, most of us spend too much time on urgent things and not enough time on important things.

So do yourself a favor and implement these three action steps every time you’re building or sorting your to-do list:

  1. Think about the difference between what is urgent and what is important.
  2. Review all the obligations on your list.
  3. Do what’s important first.

Sometimes everything on your list will look important, which might be true to an extent.  But as you practice prioritizing, you will get better and better at it.  And eventually you will know, without question, when to set aside the important things in order to accomplish the vital ones, like spending quality time with loved ones.

4.  Keep your efforts aligned with your purpose.

Getting anything worthwhile done is a matter of connecting with why you have chosen to do this thing in the first place.

Don’t allow others to confuse you.  Don’t let them convince your heart what is right for you.  Your heart already knows.  Listen to it.  Don’t let anyone else dilute the power of your inner voice.  You’ve got to stand up for something specific, on your own two legs, or you will achieve nothing worthwhile in your own mind’s eye.

Within you there is a formidable and undeniable sense of purpose.  Happiness comes from making a solid and persistent connection to that purpose.  When your intentions are supported by a “why” that has meaning, you will find the “how” to bring them to life.

5.  Play to your strengths and delegate when it makes sense.

When it comes to tackling big projects, you can try to do everything yourself, or you can reach out and find the right people to help you.  The first choice will raise your stress and blood pressure; the second choice will raise your consciousness and effectiveness.

Choosing the right perspective is so important; you CAN see life’s challenges as opportunities.  When an unexpected obstacle is suddenly standing in your way, don’t get overwhelmed.  Take a breather and regroup.  Someone else nearby knows how to get around it.  Find and engage them.

For example, if your website is suddenly having glitches with a new web browser, don’t read a giant book on web design.  Hire a professional web designer.  See the problem as an opportunity to delegate.  Life is trying to teach you that most long-term, worthy endeavors are team efforts, and so much more palatable when shared with others.  Every unexpected obstacle in life is a lesson on teamwork in disguise, solvable with the right team of people.

6.  Socialize and share with peers.

Regardless of what you’re trying to accomplish, it’s always easier if you have a group of people who understand what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and what challenges you’re facing.  Staying in touch with these people and sharing ideas with them will accelerate your effectiveness and happiness.  Best selling author, Seth Godin, refers to these people as your tribe members.

A tribe is a group of people connected to one another via an idea, movement or common goal.  For millions of years, human beings have been part of one tribe or another.  Godin says, “A group needs only two things to be a tribe: a shared interest and a way to communicate.”

Every single one of us craves the feeling of being part of something bigger than ourselves.  By nature, we are tribal, but oftentimes we become disconnected from our tribe.  We know our people are out there – somewhere – but we feel lost and disconnected from them.  If you’re feeling disconnected, open up to your peers and initiate a conversation.  Tap into your tribe.

7.  Give what you can, as you seek what you desire.

In many ways, life is a circle – what you put in to it comes back around.  When you make a positive impact in the world, the world will have a positive impact on you.

If you want to be rich, be generous.  If you want to make friends, be friendly.  If you want to be heard, listen.  If you want to be understood by others, take the time to truly understand them.  If you want to live an interesting life, be interested in the happenings around you.

You won’t always get back exactly what you wanted or expected, but when you give what you can you almost always receive what you need.

8.  Leave the past behind as you plan ahead.

Let old problems remain where they belong – in the past.  No matter how many times you revisit the past, there’s nothing new to see.  Don’t let what once happened get in the way of what is happening.  Just because you’ve made mistakes doesn’t mean your mistakes get to make you.  If something important didn’t work yesterday, figure out what changes can be made today.

Tame your inner critic; let go and move on productively.  You must make a conscious effort to do this, it won’t happen automatically.  You will have to rise up and say, “I don’t care how hard this is.  I don’t care how disappointed I am.  I’m not going to let yesterday’s problems get the best of me.  I’m taking the lessons and moving on with my life.”

9.  Commit to self-respect, regardless of the issue at hand.

Whenever you catch yourself in a rambling bout of negative self-talk, stop and ask yourself, “If I had a friend who spoke to me in the same way that I sometimes speak to myself, how long would I allow this person to be my friend?”

Remember, the way you treat yourself sets the standard for others, and the world at large, to follow.  Above everyone else, YOU deserve YOUR respect.  So make sure your decisions, behaviors and actions reflect your self-respect as you carry out your plans. (Angel and I discuss this in more detail in the “Self-Love” chapter of 1,000 Little Things Happy, Successful People Do Differently.)

10.  Leave room to breathe.

Things don’t always go as planned.  Good things can’t always be planned.  Be flexible and open to life’s twists and turns.

Organize, but don’t agonize.  Keep your space and time ordered, but your schedule under booked.  Create a foundation with a soft place to land, a wide margin of error, and room to think and breathe…

Freeing yourself from an overbooked schedule lets you experience more of life’s good surprises, and also provides you with flexibility when the unforeseen disrupts your foresight.

Afterthoughts ~  Wow, that’s a lot but doable, right?

Which ones do you feel like you are doing?  Which ones are you not?  Now, pick one you really feel drawn to try + do.  Share that below with us and your next step to make that happen.

Closing wishes: Just be yourself + follow your inner guidance.  Why? That is the key to making this all work.  Create a business that feeds your Soul + fits your life.  How?  First, know your Soul:  who you are deep down, How you work in your highest energy (and not), and what you are here to do (your purpose or path).  Then, as you feel happier being you, the other things will feel more natural to you and really start to flow.  That’s where the magic happens!
